Partner Information
eFunds offers
coverage to both same sex and opposite sex domestic partners. They
can be covered under the medical, dental, vision and supplemental
life insurance options.
Because the
IRS does not recognize domestic partners as qualified dependents,
there are a couple of exceptions to be noted regarding their coverage:
- The portion
of the premium you pay for their coverage will be taken from your
paycheck on an after-tax basis.
- If you should
loose your coverage through eFunds, domestic partners are not
given the opportunity to continue those benefits under COBRA.
The annual open
enrollment period is the only time a domestic partner may be added
to your benefits, other than your 31-day new hire election period.
