EFD supports multiple methods of card activation that allow you to send a card to a cardholder in an inactive status. The cardholder must take one of these positive actions to activate the plastic.
We offer a wide variety of options for transaction processing. Our system is designed to perform authorization functions independently or in conjunction with a host. Options range from full online, real time authorization to a complete batch-processing environment. Our Cooperative Authorization feature provides an opportunity to mix and match these options to define an optimum level of authorization security.
With Online Host Processing, the host performs all authorization. EFD simply passes the transaction from the acquirer to the issuer. With online host stand-in, if the host is unavailable, we stand in and authorize transactions based on pre-defined parameters.
With the Cooperative Authorization option, your host does the final authorization, but EFD optionally performs designated checks before passing a transaction to the host for authorization. A record is maintained for each cardholder, including card status, limits and associated accounts. We validate and perform certain edit checks such as card information, status, limits and account number lookup. Optionally, a balance file can be maintained for security during stand-in processing. Balances may be updated via electronic file transmission.
With Complete Authorization, EFD performs all authorization functions on your behalf based on limits and parameters determined by you. Transactions and balance files are delivered via batch file transfers.
EFD transaction processing services provide decision support to approve/deny requested transactions, move transaction data to the appropriate endpoint and quickly move funds to the appropriate settlement point.
Our batch hold files keep you up-to-date on current holds remaining on your cardholder account. Our systems can fully support match and hold logic, either by a direct match or an expiration time frame. Settled items can be matched to cardholder accounts and the hold removed. You define expiration parameters during installation.
We provide complete flexibility with respect to limits, usage and support for multiple account access. Cardholder limits and usage can be defined by using limit groups. Also, limits for any individual cardholder can be customized. Authorization methods and processing parameters are defined at the following levels:
We offer additional security with Expiration Date Matching. During the authorization process, we can check the expiration date submitted with the transaction and match it against the date of the plastic on file. The transaction will be denied if there is not an exact match.
We support the MasterCard® and Visa® Address Verification Services (AVS) for MasterCard Debit and VisaCheck issuers. Address verification is used mainly for mail order, catalog purchases or other transactions where the cardholder is not present at the point of sale. Merchants acquiring these transactions forward the address information supplied by the cardholder in the authorization request. Our system performs address verification, which is done by comparing certain pieces of the address against the information on file for that cardholder. We then return an address verification result back to the acquirer, who determines whether to fulfill the order.
We support MasterCard's Card Validation Code (CVC), Card Verification Value 2 (CVC2) for MasterCard Debit, Visa's Card Verification Value (CVV), and Card Validation Value 2 (CVV2) for VisaCheck service requirements. You have the option to choose how a negative match is handled. The data is passed online and the result codes are reported on the EFD Cardholder Activity, the Terminal Activity and the Suspect Fraud Exception Items reports.
With our PIN management and security services, transactions are secure and meet the industry standard to securely manage the keys to the cardholder's PINs. The processes associated with PIN security are:
We allow you to select from multiple vendors for plastic production that support the production of ATM, MasterCard and Visa cards.
Our system provides you with the tools required to accurately increase and update your cardholder files. The files are used for card production, authorizations and risk management services.
We have teamed up with Consumer Benefit Services, Inc., a proven incentive, award and motivation service company, to offer the DreamMiles® Rewards program to VisaCheck and MasterCard debit card issuers.
