EFD and Financial Literacy
EFD recognizes the critical role of financial literacy in building healthy families and communities. Financial literacy is a process that begins with education and understanding. Basic understanding of money, checking accounts and banking services is crucial to a person's ability to develop asset accumulation. That’s why we work with financial institutions, educators, community–based organizations and government agencies to offer Get Checking, a national financial education program designed specifically to help consumers without a primary banking relationship gain access to mainstream financial services.
